Know Your Budget Priorities
Since most people don't have unlimited resources, becoming a homeowner often means making choices about where you'll spend your money.
For most homeowners, this comes easily -- you know you've got a mortgage payment. But now you also have to worry about insurance premiums and real estate taxes. You also have to think about maintaining and upgrading your home.
If you don't pay your mortgage, insurance, and taxes, you could lose your home. So make sure you set aside enough cash (and then some!) each month to cover these expenses and others that will undoubtedly crop up.
